What magic teaches us!

An interesting article from Scientific American about the Classic Cups and Balls and how…

Scientists analyzing how magicians Penn & Teller perform one of the oldest known illusions now reveal that some aspects of the magic trick are even more effective at manipulating audiences than the magicians predicted.

Fun set on Saturday

Thanks to all the nice folks who came out for the Mindreading and Magic show last Saturday at the Sin Bin(I was the Mindreading part). Will Stelfox gets better every time I see him. It was the first time I witnessed the freak show antics of Casper MacCabre. The talent street performer Owen Lean was there taking pictures… If he posts any I’ll link to them. For my part I just wanted to do my set again right away, just to get some more flight time on the new stuff, all-in-all a sweet and generous crowd.

Tarology: The Poetics of the Tarot

I heard about Tarology when it was just a twinkle in Kickstarter’s eye. It’s been worth the wait.

I’ve considered Enrique Enriquez, the subject of the film, to be an unmet mentor of mine for several years. His seminal “Invisible Readings” has changed the lives and work of many mentalists, including myself.

Described as the “First Full Length Documentary about the Tarot”, it’s much more than that. Enriquez’s work lifts the Tarot from being mere tool of divination to become a profound work of art. It makes the Tarot pertinent, modern… and maybe even important.

You can order it here.

The talented UK Mind Reader, Doug Segal, lists the top six he gets here!

Fire, Walk on you… or don’t try this at motivational talks.

Hot foot!

Having performed a Genuine Glass Walk for a couple of years I can honestly say the secret is: “don’t mind getting your feet cut up a bit.”

I have no doubt a fire walk is in my future somewhere, but I also know the secret to walking on fire is: “don’t mind getting your feet burned a little.”

Maybe somebody should have told Tony.

The video footage is linked on another post.
